The Roe Deer is the most common deer in the UK it lives in areas of mixed countryside including woodland, farmland and heathland and can even be seen in some suburban gardens. This painting was originally commissioned for a wildlife calendar for WWF I painted the roe deer fawn in a flower meadow with orchids and butterflies creating a light summery feel to the scene.
