Wildlife Trusts Trailer
Commissioned by the Wildlife Trusts
SUBJECT
The Wildlife Trusts (the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts) is a federation of 46 local Wildlife Trusts in the United Kingdom, Alderney and the Isle of Man. Each Wildlife Trust is an independent charity. Between them, they have over 944,000 members, over 33,000 volunteers and more than 4,000 staff who manage over 2,600 nature reserves, covering around 280,000 acres of land and 10120 km of waterways.
SYNOPSIS
This triptych was commissioned by the Wildlife Trusts for Beds, Cambs & Northants, artwork to be reproduced on a trailer and the side of a minibus.
The three illustrations needed to show three different habitats: grassland, woodland and wetland, and their associated wildlife. These illustrations were painted considerably smaller than the printed images reproduced on the minibus and trailer. It was necessary to include as much fine detail as possible. This was achieved by using a number 1 finest Kolinsky sable brush and, occasionally, a 20x magnifying glass.
Some of the stages involved in creating this triptych are explained below.
